Pack your cowboy hat and blue jeans, think BIG and start stompin’… we’re headin’ South!
Dallas- The Fort Worth Stockyards offers a step back in time as we watch the daily Longhorn cattle drive, and possibly a gunfight. We will also spend time at the notable Sixth Floor Museum, a historic exhibition chronicling the life, times, assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy.
Waco- Chip and Joanna Gaines, stars of the hit show, Fixer Upper, have made Waco a hot spot that we will not miss! It now boasts of the famous Magnolia Market at the Silos. Witness their vision and ingenuity firsthand!
Houston- Before arriving in Houston, we’ll stop off at The George H. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, the presidential library and burial site of George H. Bush, the 41st President of the United States, and his wife Barbara Bush.
Then we blast off to the Space Center for a NASA Tram Tour and hands-on experience of space. You’ll enjoy the other highlights of this city as well…including a cruise in and around the Port of Houston.
San Antonio-“Remember the Alamo!” Highlights include the IMAX presentation of the Alamo and then a visit to this old mission and battle site. We’ll take a cruise along the famous Riverwalk, enjoying the sights and sounds of the shops and restaurants that line the banks of the San Antonio River. Other stops will include The Japanese Tea Gardens, San Jose Mission, and some shopping at El Mercado and Farmers Market.
Fredricksburg– We will travel into the heart of the Texas Hill Country where the fields are dressed in Bluebonnets and other spring wildflowers! Our stops include the LBJ Historical Park and the National Museum of the Pacific War, the only institution in the continental United States dedicated exclusively to telling the story of Pacific Theater battles of World War II.
Austin – Texas capitol. Experience the food and music of this trendy city. There are 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats that roost under the Congress Avenue Bridge, which is the largest urban bat colony in the world! We’re aiming to get a bats eye view of their nightly departure from the bridge as they emerge for their evening meal!
