Branson, Day 3

Thankfully, we awoke to much different weather today! Sunshine and blue skies welcomed us into the morning!

Branson does a great job of recognizing the Veterans who come into the area, inviting them to stand during shows and publicly thanking them…

Our very own Veterans : Ron, George, Bob, Dave, Nick, Roy and Tom

We started the day at the local college, College of the Ozarks, otherwise known as Hard Work U. It’s called that because the students who attend the school, work hard at jobs around campus to “earn” their education and leave without any debt! There are about 1500 students who, after a difficult and competitive application process, were invited to attend school there. We were impressed with the beauty of the campus, the variety of educational offerings (30 academic majors), and the level of excellence they strive for! After the tour we stopped in for a special lunch prepared and served to us by students.

The Hughes Music Show was next on our agenda for the day. The pictures offer a glimpse into the performance, but not the caliber of talent that we witnessed!

The family’s finale

Our final stop of the day, and final stop in Branson was at the Dutton’s Family Show. Again, we watched in amazement at the talent within one family! Stringed instruments where their instruments of choice and they mastered all of them!

and sometimes they didn’t even play their own instruments!
